While most of the country is deadlocked in a sea of snow, it’s tempting to trek to those early-morning classes in nothing more than some sweats and your North Face. But no matter the elements, suck it up in style by using key pieces of your wardrobe to stay cozy, comfortable, and chic.

Layering is key when facing the brisk winter air, and it adds visual interest to your outfit even at 8 a.m. Luckily, most of these pieces can already be found in your wardrobe, from an over-sized sweater to your favorite black leggings. Mix in some prints and invest in a basic bag to keep your snow-laden trips to class bearable while turning heads at the same time…

1. Baby Thermal Leggings, $26 [American Apparel]
2. Solid Rainboots, $48 [Urban Outfitters]
3. Knitted Rust Oversize Cape $90 [Top Shop]
4. Striped Black Bow Dress, $12.80 [Forever21]
5. Russian Floral Print Scarf, $27.58 [ASOS]
6. Alloy Aida Bag, $19.99 [Alloy]

What do you think?  How do you stay comfortable yet chic?
